Manijeh Behziz

Advisor
Manijeh Behziz

On early age, she found a love for helping people. Naturally, she got her BA in social work with the idea of helping those in need. Later on, she pursued a master's degree in Environmental Engineering at Oklahoma University. She started her social activism as a member of the board of directors as a student representative while at OU. Manijeh has always been a pivotal part of producing change within the different communities she has been a part of. In 2006, she founded Mehr Inc. to provide a sense of community to the growing Iranian senior population. She had a vision and built Mehr into the vivid community that it is today, providing services and a sense of family for those who participate. Manijeh also helped to start the Zoroastrian Women's Association and Zoroastrian Anjoman. She served on that board for both and was a pivotal part of its beginning, serving a total of 6 years on the board. Most recently, Manijeh had an idea to build a supprot group for those who primarily speak Farsi to build a community where no one is left behind. Yavar group was build off of this ideal and Manijeh is proud to be apart of the organization as a board member. Manijeh has been a pivotal part of the Iranian and Zoroastrian communities within the Sacramento region. She continues to serve her community and build organizations through the passion that drives her.
